GOLDEN VISA

The Golden Visa is a residence permit (Residence Permit) issued on preferential terms to participants of the state program.

Capital transfer of an amount,
An amount equal to or greater than €1,500,000;

Purchase of non-residential real estate of a value
Buying non-residential real estate of a value equal to or greater than 500,000 €

The purchase of residential property of a value equal to or greater than €500,000 in regions of low population density, the Azores and Madeira;

The purchase of a dwelling built more than 30 years ago for an amount equal to or greater than €350,000 or the purchase of a dwelling in an area covered by the public renovation programme in regions of low population density, the Azores and Madeira;

Transfer of capital of €500,000 or more to create a commercial enterprise with headquarters in Portugal and the creation of 5 permanent jobs.

Creation of at least 10 jobs;

Transfer of capital equal to or greater than 250 thousand euros to invest in artistic production or to support art for the preservation of national heritage;

Transfer of capital of 500 thousand euro or more to invest in research activities carried out by public or private research institutions;

Transfer of capital of 500 thousand euro or more for the purchase of units of investment funds or venture capital funds intended to capitalize the company.

Who is not eligible for the Golden visa program?
Portuguese, EU and EEE citizens are not eligible for the ARI / Golden Visa program.

Who is eligible for the Golden visa program and how do I get it?
Citizens residing outside the European Union and investing as a private person or through a company established in Portugal (another EU state):

•   China
•   Russia
•   Brazil
•   South Africa and other countries.
